CNS's new hosting service is off and running. Over the past year the CNS Open Systems Group has been expanding its hosting services to include new customers from deparments throughout the University community. Currently over twenty new departmental web projects have benefitted from this service and more are being added at a steady pace.

This service is highly tailored to meet the individual needs of each customer. At this point hosting arrangements have included virtual hosting with Apache on Linux, IIS on Windows server, MySQL and MS SQL database resources, as well as fully managed hosting for those customers in need of their own operating system image.

The CNS hosting service has allowed UF departments to save time and money by leveraging the systems expertise and enterprise-class infrastructure available at CNS. Hosting includes twenty-four hour operational service coverage, data center facilities with redundant power and newly improved, storm-hardened building infrastructure.
