The Wallplate/Voip project is growing at an amazing rate. As of July 1, 2007, there were about 1600 voip phones and about 12,000 data ports deployed on campus. As of November 8th, that number had grown to more than 2100 phones and 14,500 data ports.

As we have moved into actual implementation, we have found a higher demand for these services than was originally anticipated. The project first called for 6000 phones and 25,000 data ports. Now, the projections are for 8500 phones and 36,000 data ports.

We had planned for 9 active projects at a time. We now have 28 active projects: six in intial stages, nine in planning and design, and deployment of thirteen.

Other factors that have impacted the production schedule include adding the six new buildings.

We have completed some of the buildings, and our experiences with them have also been factored into the revised schedule. Every completed project adds more information for our calculations.

Completed buildings include:

The UF Wall-Plate building implementation revised schedule is now available on-line.

Based on early experience, the Wall-Plate implementation team has created a projection showing anticipated development of the project.
